Dependence: It is in the genes?

When it comes to philosophies of drug abuse, there are two general schools of thought: that addiction is a genetic disease of influencers, or that addiction is a disease caused by underlying problems of mental, emotional or spiritual. In the case of the former addiction is treatable with detoxification treatment, for external or hospitalized patients and the General recovery for life support. In the case of the latter, it is presumed that the treatment of the underlying cause will naturally treat drug addiction. However, there is much more evidence in support of the former than the latter. Addiction can be easily classified for other serious diseases, potentially deadly such as cancer and research has shown that genetic indeed plays a role that develops with addictions and becomes severe how these dependencies.

When we know how the genetics, everyone is susceptible to addiction. It is because we have all centres pleasure and reward base same built in our brain. These centres have been designed to release dopamine to make the body feel good when something pleasant. However, the brain creates associations with environments and other situational data which existed at the time the pleasant action occurred. The brain then creates neurological pathways that the sensation of pleasure and reward and the following associations which are put at the service. These associations later cause a person to look for ways to recreate these feelings more and more. It is the true neurological nature of the disease of drug addiction, and all human beings humans have this genetic propensity to develop dependencies.

It is believed that humans evolved this process to better survive. For example, if a particular food tasted good, was easy to eat and provided enough energy, it would cause a release of dopamine in the brain and a contextual association would be made. Later, a man at the beginning which amounts to the same type of environment would receive a reminder of this pleasant action and seek it once again, thus standing a better chance of survival if these associations and innate drives were not produced. Today, we take these processes granted because most people have that they need, and humans are sufficiently trained to know, logically, which will be used for the purposes of survival and reproduction. However, because these neurological pathways can exist, people can become addicted to all sorts of things: sex, food, games of chance, exercise, medications and more.

Many drug experts agree that drug abuse is indeed passed through its genes. However, it is not only a gene responsible for a greater propensity to substance abuse. Instead, a number of genes is responsible and only certain combinations of these genes cause addictive behaviors. For example, a father and a mother may not be addicted, but they can have three children where only one of them is genetically predisposed to drug addiction. This is because the mother had some parts of the genetic combination and other father. These pieces combined "correctly" addictive personality forms in only one in three children. Ultimately the genes that contribute to drug abuse are passed on a chance-of-the-draw basis and may skip one or more generations.
