Prevention of Alzheimer's disease by exercise

Written By anfaku01 on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 | 5:11 PM

exercises for alzheimer'sAlzheimer's disease is a degenerative nervous system. While no one knows for sure what causes this disease that affects directly the brain, has shown that it is possible to reduce the risk of incidence of the disease by taking some precautions in advance.

Exercises to prevent Alzheimer's disease are based on performing daily tasks, but in a sense the opposite of what we are accustomed. In this way we obtain a novel stimulus which checks the memory of intellectual functions permanently. Exercises to prevent Alzheimer's disease are easy to make, very handy and even fun.

One of the exercises suggested for people who want to prevent Alzheimer's disease is to brush your teeth, open handles and perform actions with the hand opposite the one are used (instead of the right to use the left, for example). To test the brain can also try to dress up in the dark (or with eyes closed), see the images or the headlines at the back, walk backwards and change the doll where you use the watch. People who are accustomed to use the computer several times a day you can try using the mouse with your other hand or change the configuration of the keyboard (learning the DVORAK key layout instead of QWERTY).

Other exercises very effective for people who want to improve cognition and prevent the onset of neurodegenerative diseases are puzzles, word games (scrabble), crossword puzzles and other mind-challenging (best examples are chess and sudoku). We will see the benefits of different memory exercises to combat Alzheimer's disease in the short term, but to ensure the prevention of this disease we must keep in time.

Graves ' disease and hyperthyroidism

Written By anfaku01 on Thursday, August 11, 2011 | 1:19 AM

Hyperthyroidism and Graves Disease

Graves ' disease is a variant of hyperthyroidism is due to hyperactivity of the thyroid gland. Its symptoms are similar to those of other existing types of hyperthyroidism, but is distinguished by the production of inflammation of the tissues surrounding the eyes, while trying to appear as protruding.

Eye symptoms appear shortly before the disease is diagnosed but rarely have problems when you start the treatment. Also keep in mind that patients are smokers Graves, more often have eye problems.

Graves ' disease originates in the immune system. It produces antibodies that hook into the surface of cells of the thyroid stimulating hormone overproduction. I.e., develops an overactive thyroid. There is an important relationship between emotional stress and this situation, although not all patients with graves.

Hyperthyroidism is diagnosed by physical examination and laboratory tests that measure the amount of thyroid hormones in the blood. Is this evidence of the existence of some symptoms such as eye problems mentioned above, a swollen thyroid and a family history with a history of thyroid problems.

The treatment of graves ' disease includes the administration of thyroid medication and in extreme cases, radioactive iodine, and surgery. It is usually easily controlled with medication and does not need to go further. Also keep in mind that hyperthyroidism may easily slip over time in hypothyroidism, especially when administered radioactive iodine or surgery occurs.

Keep in mind that when the graves ' disease hereditary family members may be at risk of osteoporosis, which is not desirable for a medical examination.

Osteoporosis - a largely preventable disease

Written By anfaku01 on Monday, July 4, 2011 | 1:59 AM

What is osteoporosis?

Osteoporosis is loss of bone mineral density often associated with old age, leading to bone fragility and fracture. Because the bones are weak, these fractures can result from trauma relatively minor as carrying bags of groceries or even a sneeze! Hip fractures can be due to a fall and can significantly compromise the quality of life and the ability to walk. Statistics show that 1 in 8 men over 50 years American and 1/4 American women have osteoporosis. It's a statistics very discouraging, considering that osteoporosis is a largely preventable disease. Osteoporosis is also usually clinically silent until a fracture occurs, so it can go unnoticed for years. This is why bone density scans (DEXA scans) are often recommended for post-menopausal women.

Risk factors:

There are modifiable and nonmodifiable osteoporosis risk factors. Well-known non-modifiable risk factors include age, female, family history of osteoporosis, the fair of skin and of European descent. Women who have had a hysterectomy are also a higher risk because hormones such as estrogen have a protective effect on bone density. Some drugs and metabolic diseases may also affect the chemistry of the body and bone mass. What interests us most, however, are modifiable risk factors. Modifiable risk factors are lifestyle choices. Some of the risk factors include: smoking, have a sedentary lifestyle, low body mass and some dietary factors.

Prevention:

Osteoporosis prevention starts now! Density bone peak occurs between 25 and 35 years, gradually reduces with age and menopause to down the slope becomes more steep. Here are some great tips...

(1) Fiscal year:

The exercise is the most important strategy for the prevention of osteoporosis. Weight-bearing aerobic activities help to maintain and even increase bone mass. Weight-bearing exercises are any exercise done on those feet as the jogging, hiking, climbing stairs, step aerobic, dancing and bodybuilding. The body adapts to the stress placed on it by the construction of the stronger muscles and bones. Right of Wolff refers to the os - os redesigns over time to become stronger when loaded. The reverse is also true - bone is not properly loaded, it becomes weaker.

(2) Maintain a healthy weight:

Low birthweight is a risk factor for osteoporosis, to maintain a healthy weight is important.

(3) To quit:

Those that smokers have that one medium of the same age, low bone density 10%. Fractures are also slower healing in smokers and holistic healing is compromised.

(4) Modify your diet:

Excessive alcohol consumption inhibits the absorption of calcium and is associated with osteoporosis. Diets rich in protein (animal meat), caffeine and soft drinks (phosphoric acid containing) as problematic area, resulting in a loss of calcium. High consumption of oxalates and zinc food fibre high decrease absorption of calcium from diet. Conversely, food forming alkaline (such as fruit and vegetables) appear to be beneficial. Legumes Phytoestrogens contains (such as soybeans, chickpeas, and lentils) also appear to have protective effects on bone mass. Nutrition is a very important role in bone health, it is essential to ensure a balanced diet in good health with an adequate supply of necessary vitamins and minerals.

(5) Improve your digestion:

Poor absorption leads to deficiency. Consider probiotics and low allergenic regime.

(6) Supplementation into consideration:

Supplementation is not a replacement for a healthy, balanced and nutritious diet. A healthy and balanced diet is a must! However, it may be necessary when gaps. There are also certain vitamins and mineral supplements that are specially formulated for bone density low address. Following appear to have a protective effect on bone density: calcium citrate, vitamin D, vitamin K, magnesium, boron, isoflavones and Omega-3 fatty acids.

Management of osteoporosis and low bone density:

A large part of the notice for the prevention of osteoporosis and low bone density is also used for management. It is also important to eliminate the risk of falling to prevent the fracture. Your family doctor may recommend a drug. Unfortunately, many drugs have adverse side effects. Be sure to ask lots of questions about the benefits and risks for the options that you can make an informed decision about your health.

Can I still see a chiropractor if I have low bone density or osteoporosis?

Chiropractors offer many soft techniques for people who have low bone density or osteoporosis. Make sure you specify your chiropractor if you are aware that you have this problem.

US disease, injuries and deaths related to alcohol

Written By anfaku01 on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 | 5:01 PM

Alcohol-related deaths, injuries and diseases is one of the most important threats the United States public health. Alcohol is closely associated with domestic violence, assault, suicide, homicide, rape, disease and injury in the workplace. In addition, the number of drunk driving deaths and injuries each year is amazing. In fact, related to alcohol car accidents are the leading cause of death of persons aged 17 to 34 in the United States. The high prevalence of alcoholism and alcohol issues in the country indicate a growing concern of public health which can only be mitigated through programmes of education and alcohol as treatment of hospitalized patients, ambulatory treatment and day and night programs. And because alcoholism is a disease that can affect anyone, it is essential to avoid the cycle of drug addiction and alcohol abuse to understand its implications and consequences.

In recent decades the drinking and driving is a much more serious problem to the United States. However, through awareness of the public and organizations like MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), incidents of drunken driving and death rates have declined since the beginning of the 1980s. However, alcohol is a factor in about 40% of the country road deaths each year. This means that approximately 14 000 people die each year in alcohol-related car accidents. (Figures from 2008 Drunk Driving statistics alcohol alert) Unfortunately, many of these people were motorists innocent, pedestrians or cyclists who were killed in an accident caused by someone else who was intoxicated.

States such as New-Mexico - once the worst of the nation for drunk driving - decreased alcohol driving significantly by mandating the formation of alcohol for the servers and bartenders and closing liquor stores "drive-through" style. Other States such as the Dakota in the North and South Carolina have no improvement of drunk driving statistics: in the two States, half of all deaths are caused by alcohol.

Perhaps even more important than alcohol related accidents is the amount of disease and death due to the physical effects of alcohol. The US CDC (Center for Disease Control) recently reported that there are approximately 23 000 deaths each year related to alcohol (pas homicide or drunk) and that 14 400 of these deaths are directly caused by an alcohol-related liver disease. In addition, the high incidence of alcoholism reported by nationwide addiction treatment centres indicates that professional industry does may not correctly assess the amount of deaths, injuries and illnesses related to alcohol each year, as many many of these go unreported or.

Data that can be difficult to get include:

* The data showing the association of alcohol and homicide

* The data showing the association of alcohol and suicide

* The data showing the total number of workplace injury incidents alcohol related

* Use data showing the total number of residential or personal injury as a result of alcohol

* The data showing the total number of assault, including rape and sexual assault occurring related to alcohol abuse

However, because alcohol is not discriminatory and can affect anyone, most people are familiar with its negative effects on the lives of individuals, families and persons in the community. If you or someone that you care about is suffering from alcoholism, you can get help now to stop the cycle. All you need to do is pick up the phone.

How to accelerate your recovery of disease

Written By anfaku01 on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 | 4:06 AM

From time to time, we face all the different types of problems of health in our lives. Mainly of minor diseases we bother but sometimes real life threatening diseases such as heart attack, renal failure, cancer, etc., frighten us. If you as the dragon of death arrives at big step you take your life, what would be your immediate reaction? What is you would surrender or fight with your fully into force? There are many stories of courageous people who beat death even when there is little hope of their survival.

I had suffered two massive heart attacks in March 2003 and December 2006. These two times, doctors told me that it was a matter of minutes between life and death. I've kept myself till I reached the hospital and doctors began to operate on me. I have suffered to a lesser degree of a heart attack last month (April 2011). On all these occasions, I have recovered quickly because I used my inner healing powers to defeat the disease. My family was in great distress on all these occasions, but I told them with a smile: "I am alive and fine, nothing to worry about."

In fact, there are two ways to speed up your healing process. One, take seriously; the advice of your doctor, and two, avoir confidence that you will be faster.

I give below some tips from my personal experience, which will be useful in your rapid recovery of any illness, minor or fatal:

1. You must have complete faith in the professional capabilities of your doctor. If you are in doubt, change the doctor.

2. Before the drugs taken for a moment of waiting and say to yourself: "I am highly effective and best drugs prescribed by my doctor expert." After taking these medications, I will feel better in a few hours. »

3. Every morning repeat these sentences several times: "I feel better than yesterday." My health improves. Nothing to worry about. »

4. Tell your friends and family about your disease in a humorous way. Do not show their dark faces. Keep the smile and say with confidence that you can recover quickly.

5. If your medical reports are bad, don't panic. Keep your hopes high and remain convinced that a few days after your reports will start to show some positive signs.

6. Your positive attitude has the power to significantly increase your recovery. Happily live with hope is much better than to live permanently in the self-pity.

7 Overcome your disease tactfully and skillfully. Keep your spirits high and don't let negative thoughts keep you worried. Any type of negativity can prolong your illness.

8. Cleanliness is important to overcome the disease. Keep your hands, mouth, and the own body. To the extent possible, take daily baths and change your daily life.

9. If you are a believer, pray to God for your good health and ask your friends to remember in their prayers. Ask for God's help is always beneficial.

10. If your condition deteriorates to the point that there is no chance of your survival, even then I would suggest that you should not lose hope. Say good bye with a big smile on his face. In this way, you will give the world a clear message that you had completed your mission with elegance and now leave this world peacefully.

The disease knows no season: Common causes nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea

Written By anfaku01 on Saturday, June 18, 2011 | 9:55 PM

It may seem that some diseases occur only during certain seasons, such as colds of hay in the spring and fall, and influenza, in all its incarnations in the winter. The reality is that most of the diseases that have as its nausea symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea, are essentially viruses that may be at any time of the year around. To learn more about what can cause these three symptoms, you will be able to anticipate what happens by taking some simple precautions.

Common symptoms

Whenever someone says to feel the weather, even if they feel just a little sick, most often they will share the same symptoms that a person suffering from food poisoning, the stomach flu or even allergic reactions. There are some people who will be in good health throughout the year, but once they go on vacation, to a new environment, they will fall sick. As we said, the majority of these cases is viral, caused by bacteria and viruses that can strike without warning, any time of year, it is common.

While most of these diseases share the same symptoms of three main, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, you can also show some of the following classic symptoms, depending on the severity of your condition: pain, headaches and even dizziness of stomach. If any of these symptoms arise, we recommend that you seek help as soon as possible. Ignoring the symptoms like these for too long can lead to dehydration, or something much more serious.

Common causes

The most common viral infection that can strike at any time is known as gastroenteritis, or the flu stomach. He has all the special assignments of the common flu, but a symptom in particular is more virulent with this condition: diarrhea. Diarrhea occurs that the intestines grow the accumulation of feces in your body out before that water that grows naturally in this process can be reabsorbed. When this happens, you'll have chronic watery stool, most of the time accompanied by fever, vomiting, abdominal cramps and nausea.

During some seasons, especially in summer, the chance of your descendant of food poisoning or some other bacteria based disease increases, mainly due to our increased use of water. Swim us more, drink and eat more things that us does not normally include our diet. A particular bacterium, e. Coli bacteria, is particularly active during this period of the year. Any person carrying bacteria on their hands, hair, or a body can pass quite easily, especially if they have recently managed fecal material, such as change the diapers for the baby. Most center of outbreaks around the United States fountains and untreated or filtered water systems in foreign countries.

Treatment options

The truth is, must down you with the flu of the stomach, or any other viral or bacterial disease, there is no real course of treatment can be done for you that everything moisturize you and as bland a possible diet to give your stomach time to rally and to heal. In fact, there are many over-the-counter, and antibiotics which can aggravate your condition instead of better. Better to listen to your doctor for instructions on home therapy.

Liquids are very important at this time. Because your body has not had time to reabsorb water treatment stools, you lose vital liquid that you need to survive with all movements of the body. Not to mention all that you lose whenever you vomit. It is recommended that you keep sucking on ice chips or small sips of water or flat soda.

The BRAT diet

Very simply, the best plan for the recovery of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea is the BRAT diet: bananas, rice, roasted applesauce. This regime will not irritate your stomach. Instead, he maintains the protein and other nutrients you need input and help reduce gastric acid. If a child who is sick, forget not that which is good for an adult are not for a child, so check with your pediatrician first. Avoid the food dairy, fried, spicy and citrus for some time, and without caffeine or alcohol.
